Women of Color Zine Symposium

Definitely a minority here in 76% white Portland, I am looking forward to attending the Women of Color Zine Symposium today.  I was just talking to my friend, Katie, last night about how we live in one of the best towns for self publishing. There are so many venues for people to sell self published books/zines. There really is no reason to NOT get your voice heard. And this is a voice that is so often brushed under the big white rug.  I'm glad I not only live in a town that is abundant with opportunities to express yourself, but also full of people willing to let these voices be heard. Woot!!  You should make it out if you can. Help show some support and hear a very loud voice that can't remain hidden for long!!

Also, I like the name of their zine; How to Live in the City of Roses and Avoid the Pricks.
