Recent Sketches

Here are a few sketches I've done lately. The first two of Hulk and Magik were done really quickly at work during my break.

These sketches are of people 'round town. I'm trying to get back into sketching people. It helps pull details out when you need them. I had to draw a bag lately and after sketching this girl's bag I was able to remember a few details. Sketching hats and clothing adds to your visual repertoire and you can pull those little details out to make your drawings pop out. I was working with different hairstyles on the bottom right.

And this little robot dude I drew at a Magic tournament while I was sitting out a round. I'm always trying to work on robot designs for my comic.

A Night at the Lucky Devil

I had to go out to The Lucky Devil the other night and do some "research." It is going to be in the comic I am working on with my buddy, Scott. So I went in and sketched the place out and then started sketching the dancers and the clientele. I always have a great time going out and sketching at bars around Portland. There are a lot of interesting people in Portland. 8)

The New Mutants

Here's my final drawing of The New Mutants. I have always loved these characters. The first comic I can remember reading was an early issue of The New Mutants during Sienkiewicz's run when I was around the age of 8 or so. It was one of the first things to get me into art. I'm so glad they have brought them back together.
