CB, the talent scout for Marvel, has given a ton of tips on breaking into comics. "Be persistent. Be patient. Don't be pushy. Don't be a pain-in-the-ass." "Then just send updates letting the editor know what you're up to every 4 - 6 weeks. Never more than once a month." This gives me time to work on other projects like this drawing of Heath from Fear Agent.
If you haven't read Fear Agent I suggest you go down to the local comic shop and buy every trade they have!!! It is sooooo good! It is written by Rick Remender and drawn by Tony Moore and Jerome Opena. Tony Moore is one of my favorite artists at the moment. He just finished working on Ghost Rifer and is going to be working with Remender on Punisher. I'm gonna be all over that when it comes out. 8)
Fear Agent is a good ol' sci-fi yarn of a Texan named Heath that is always drinkin' whiskey and gettin' in touble. It's got robots, alien monsters, time travel, jet packs and rackin' frackin' cowboy dialogue. It's also been green lighted for movie. Woot!!
I have one more week to put the finishing touches on my next set of samples for Marvel. I'm happy with the layouts. Looking forward to some feedback. I'm also going to do some more paintings for Last Thursday here in Portland. Work, Work, Work!! But for now, I am going to snuggle up in bed and get some shut eye. 8)
